While birds are literally falling dead from the sky in Boston, a Philadelphia woman sustained minor injuries when a catfish came raining down from the heavens and smacked her in the face. The incident took place on the morning of Labor Day, when Lisa Lobree was walking on a path in Fairmount Park on her way to a boot camp class on the Art Museum steps, just feet from the famous Rocky statue. (Rocky Balboa sure as hell never had to deal with getting hit by falling fish, although that sure would have made one hell of a training montage.) And then, bam, right in the face.

“I think it might have been head, face, and neck because I smelled so bad afterwards. I smelled disgusting,” she said.

As she regained her composure, a friend she was walking with found the culprit. “It bounced off Annie. Annie sees me go down, turns around, looks and goes ‘Oh my God! It was a fish,’” Lobree said.

While it may be funny to picture a woman getting hit in the face by a fish falling from the sky (okay, definitely funny), in all seriousness, Lobree was lucky she wasn’t seriously injured. She estimates that the catfish was approximately five pounds and 18 inches in length, and was dropped from about 50 feet in the sky — most likely by a bird. (*Shakes fist* Birds!) Yet she was fortunate to walk away with just a small cut to her face and some minor swelling.

So if you weren’t already worried enough about global warming, gun violence, or any of the other dangers afflicting our world today, you can add catfish falling from the sky to the long list of things that can kill you.
