Stephen Colbert Makes It Clear Where He Stands On Trump’s Rumored ‘Enemies List’

There could be some question around the tone that our late night hosts should take with their shows, be it Jimmy Fallon’s playful attitude with the presidential candidates or Stephen Colbert’s apparent schtick. Despite his very sobering Showtime special on election night, Colbert went back to his pre-election tone with last night’s show and that didn’t sit well with some.

That seems to have changed on Thursday when Colbert ran down Trump’s rumored cabinet from Donald Trump Jr. to Omarosa, even hitting on the existence of a possible enemies list. She hasn’t played the bad guy since the first season of The Apprentice back in 2004, but she seems to have taken to the role with Trump’s ascent to The White House and put all of his detractors on notice, at least in a manner of speaking. You don’t exactly say that people will bow down to President Trump when you’re not threatening folks.

This causes Colbert to blame Samantha Bee and Seth Meyers, say that Trump has giant hands, and that he was just joking about all that horrible stuff that was said during the election. Or that’s what he would say if he didn’t finish the opening off with a line that should really define The Late Show going forward. Well worth your time.
