Trayvon Martin’s Mother Campaigns For Hillary Clinton: ‘Vote … Your Life Depends On It’

Sybrina Fulton, the mother of Trayvon Marton, the Florida teenager who was shot and killed by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in February 2012, has been using her voice — alongside a group of bereaved mothers who call themselves the Mothers of the Movement — to urge voters to vote for Hillary Clinton. On Sunday, Fulton took the stage at a campaign rally in Raleigh, North Carolina, to make the case for the Democratic nominee.

“I came all the way from Miami, Florida, with these beautiful mothers here, to tell you guys how important it is to get out and vote,” Fulton said. “You guys have early election here, there is no excuse. No excuse for you not to vote and for you not to take a family member or a friend. It’s important. Your life depends on it. Trust me, your life depends on it.”

Fulton was joined on stage by Lucia McBath, the mother of Jordan Davis; Gwen Carr, the mother of Eric Garner; Geneva Reed-Veal, the mother of Sandra Bland; and Maria Hamilton, the mother of Dontre Hamilton. The mothers have previously starred in a campaign ad for Clinton.
