Donald Trump Unleashes The Hounds On Hillary Clinton And Her ‘Woman Card’

Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton all but have their nominations sewn up in terms of sheer mathematics. It’s only a matter of time, really, before their leads become official. Bernie Sanders held his own for several consecutive states, but his momentum is waning. Ted Cruz finished miserably behind John Kasich in most of Tuesday’s Northeast primaries, and Kasich still only has Ohio. Trump took all five states while Clinton put another four under her belted coat. Their victory speeches both considered the common refrain that Clinton’s followers mainly support the idea of a woman president.

To back up a bit, Trump spent part of his Tuesday morning Fox and Friends call (the same one where he wished a fond farewell to Lena Dunham) discussing his belief that Clinton’s only got “the woman card” on her side. He thinks she panders to the ladies, and although Trump would enjoy seeing a female become president, he doesn’t want it to be Clinton. Well, she heard this sentiment and addressed it in her speech:

“Mr. Trump accused me of ‘playing the woman card.’ If fighting for women’s healthcare, and paid family leave and equal pay is ‘playing the woman card,’ then deal me in.”

She’s capitalizing upon his insults, and Trump asked for this, but it didn’t feel like a punch to him. When he stepped up for his speech, he doubled down with even more divisive statements:

“I think only card she has is the women’s card. She has nothing else going. And, frankly, if Hillary Clinton were a man, I don’t think she’d get 5% of the vote. The only thing she has going is the woman’s card. And the beautiful thing is women don’t like her, okay? And look how well I did with women tonight. So, ladies and gentlemen, thank you very much.”

All the while, Chris Christie grinned his face off without a hostage face in sight. Trump then referred to himself as the “presumptive nominee,” and he’s probably correct. So, these are gonna be the chosen two? Sure looks like it.
