Watch A Trump Rally Speaker And A Crowd Mock Elizabeth Warren With War Whoops

Remember when Donald Trump started calling Elizabeth Warren “Pocahontas” back in May? It’s almost July, and seeing as how the presumptive Republican nominee has continually hounded the Massachusetts senator about her alleged Native American heritage since March, it won’t stop anytime soon. Especially since Warren is favored to join Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign as her running mate. And if Trump’s rally in Bangor, Maine on Wednesday was any indication, it’s a good bet his supporters won’t forget the insult either.

For starters, when the Boston-based conservative radio host Howie Carr mentioned Warren’s name, the reference “[brought] Native American war cry sounds from the crowd” in attendance.

If that weren’t enough, Carr himself got in on the action and produced his own mock “war cry” for the attendees’ amusement. Several reporters in attendance tweeted about the incident as it happened, though footage of Carr’s insult was quickly uploaded to YouTube soon after.

During her race for the Massachusetts senate seat against then-incumbent Scott Brown, the latter challenged Warren’s claims about her Native American ancestry. Despite the Brown campaign’s insistence on turning the matter into a controversial issue, his Democratic challenger beat him during the election and won the seat. The matter fell out of the limelight, for the most part, but Trump rekindled it in March while responding to the senator’s criticisms of him at the time.
