The Rock Announces His Latest Film Role Via Twitter, And It’s Almost Exactly What You’d Imagine

Only a few weeks after the announcement that he’ll take on the role of Black Adam in DC’s Shazam adaptation, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson took to twitter to announce his next big screen endeavor: an introverted nuclear physicist’s journey of both self and scientific discovery while battling existential depression and HAHA just kidding, he’s an ex-military dude who’s gonna shoot a bunch of people:

As indicated by The Rock’s tweet, the script will be penned by Academy Award-winning writer Akiva Goldsman, who is responsible for such critically acclaimed cinematic darlings Lost In Space, Batman Forever, and Batman & Robin.

The Janson Directive, based on the posthumously-released novel by Jason Bourne-creator Robert Ludlum, follows an ex-Navy SEAL caught in the midst of a government conspiracy after a rescue mission goes awry. Framed for the murder of the billionaire Nobel Peace Laureate visionary he was sent to save, Janson has to work outside the law to clear his name, and bring down those in the government who want him dead.

Somewhere Jesse Ventura just got a phantom boner.
