We’re just two weeks away from the Royal Rumble event, and emotions are running at an all-time high in the WWE locker room. After The Authority unceremoniously fired Dolph Ziggler, Ryback and Erick Rowan last week on Raw, the entire roster is seemingly in a constant state of unease — many fearing for their jobs. Will other Superstars, including Authority enemies Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, face severe consequences for their defiance this week? Plus, will Macho Madness finally take its rightful place in history? What awaits as WWE’s flagship show emanates live from New Orleans, the site of WrestleMania 30? WWE.com has some ideas. Our five-point preview:
1. If you haven’t already read about Macho Man getting into the WWE Hall of Fame and the announcement being on Raw, that “will Macho Madness finally take its rightful place in history” line is really out of left field. Like, why would you mention it if it wasn’t? You haven’t been running a “Macho can’t get into the Hall of Fame” angle, have you?
2. From WWE.com’s preview: Will distractions hurt John Cena’s chances to become WWE World Heavyweight Champion? I wish the text under the picture was just “lol no.”
3. Tonight continues the WHO WILL THE AUTHORITY PUNISH story, because Team Cena lost at Survivor Series and we’re like a week into December. I think.
4. You can tell things are kinda dreary whenever WWE’s preview is just “is Nikki Bella’s Divas Championship in jeopardy?” and “is this the era of Bad News?” Their biggest preview points are “some of our wrestlers have championships, guess we’ll wait and see where that goes.” I guess your preview points can’t be “another distraction rollup for the Divas” and “the IC Champ has already lost clean to Sin Cara, so welcome to the garbage can.”
5. Everyone keep your fingers crossed for another Roman Reigns promo tonight. They’re gonna accidentally make me love him by giving him Bo Dallas heat.
