Friday Wrestling Conversation: What’s Your Favorite WrestleMania Moment?

What’s your favorite WrestleMania moment?

That’s our question for today’s Friday Wrestling Conversation. WWE’s turned the “WrestleMania Moment” into a buzzphrase, suggesting that doing something at WrestleMania is more important than winning there, but ours is much simpler. On the show where “moments” matter, which one stuck with you?

Personally, I have a few. Being live for Ric Flair’s “retirement” match at WrestleMania 24 was a big one. I’d grown up watching him wrestling my entire life, and the “I’m sorry, I love you” kick is about as perfect as WWE melodrama can get. He wrestled a lot after that and kinda ruined the moment, but that feeling of thinking, “just do it already,” will live with me forever. Another is being live for the Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus match at WrestleMania 28 and being madder at and more disappointed in wrestling than I’d ever been. Ugh, I wasted so much money getting to that show to see that match. If you want to see a man go from ultimate joy to ultimate defeat in 20 seconds, find me in the crowd and zoom in.

Aside from that broad spectrum of live experiences, the ending to WrestleMania XX was always my favorite wrestling moment. For obvious reasons, that’s not at the top of the list anymore.
