WWE Released A Statement Denying Brock Lesnar’s Alleged Blade Job

WWE is adamantly denying that they would ever allow Brock Lesnar to intentionally bleed his own blood. After his match at WrestleMania 31 against Roman Reigns, fans watching the video back claim that Reigns may not have done as much damage as it seemed. First, there was the belief that Lesnar removed his gloves during the match to inflict more damage with his knuckle. Then, this GIF surfaced:

This led people to believe that the referee of the match tucked something sharp into the hand of Roman Reigns to pass off to Lesnar later in the match. WWE is vehemently against intentional blood in their matches and would never engage in any such shenanigans:

WWE programming is TV-PG and we don’t permit intentional bleeding. The communication or contact between our performers and referees is part of our safety protocol. That said, unintentional blood sometimes occurs, and we do our best to minimize. – WWE

While the actual health and mental well-being of wrestlers is something WWE can be contested on again and again, they’re not budging on what happened in this particular instance. This statement from WWE will either further push people into accepting what they assumed happened as fact because WWE is very protective of themselves, even when they get caught, or it’s really no big deal, and we all forget about it until someone brings it up on a message board three years from now. My favorite theory is that the ref was taking his opportunity to tell Reigns what a great job he was doing in the main-event (he really did, no hate here) by responding to what he asked him previously:
