The Rock’s Leather-Clad Cousin ‘Lina’ Made Her In-Ring Debut At An NXT Live Event

The Rock may not be a regular weekly presence on WWE TV these days, but the company is more than making up for it by hiring every Rock cousin willing to strap on a pair of boots. We already have Roman Reigns and The Usos running around and we may soon have a lady Rock cousin gracing our TV screens.

Lina (real name Savelina Fanene) is from a previously un-mined branch of the Anoa’i Samoan wrestling family. Lina is descended from the brother of the mother of The Rock’s grandfather Peter Maivia. Okay, that’s a little confusing, but suffice to say, The Rock and Lina are legit genetic cousins. No “close family friend” fudging like with Jimmy Snuka and his daughter Tamina.

Lina has been training with WWE for about a year, and made her in-ring debut at a weekend NXT house show. Here’s a couple pictures from said debut…

She’s not your typical WWE Diva, but that’s hardly a bad thing, and I’m sure Lina will be given every chance to succeed given her heritage. Current issues with Roman Reigns’ character aside, The Rock’s family have a pretty unassailable track record when it comes to producing badass pro wrestlers, so until she shows up on Raw cutting promos about beanstalks, I’m giving Lina the benefit of the doubt.
