Don’t worry WWE Universe, John Cena isn’t leaving the squared circle for the bright lights of Hollywood.

Despite receiving rave reviews from critics and his co-stars for his comedy chops in the new movie Trainwreck, Cena wants everyone to know he’s going to be with the WWE for life. Cena explained his career plans to TMZ.

“I think if there is a time I gotta get out the ring. Even sitting at the commentary table last night. It’s such a great live show. And maybe I can be there or maybe work behind the scenes.”

But Cena isn’t leaving Hollywood behind either.

“Will there be more movies? We’ll see.”

No one would really blame Cena if he did in fact leave the WWE. He’s already considered one of the faces on the company’s Mount Rushmore, along with Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin and his rival The Rock. He is still in the prime of his career, has won every major championship in the business and has been the face of the company for more than a decade.

And many professional wrestlers have gone on to make movies in Hollywood, from Rowdy Roddy Piper, to Hulk Hogan and of course Andre the Giant’s star turn in The Princess Bride. Of course, the most successful leap from the WWE to Hollywood would be The Great One, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who has starred in numerous blockbusters and is arguably the biggest action star in the world right now.

In the end no one should be shocked with Cena’s comments about wanting to be a WWE lifer. After all, this is a guy who once cut a promo trashing The Rock for leaving the wrestling industry to become a movie star.

Somewhere Vince Mcmahon is breathing a huge sigh of relief.
