Pro Wrestling Promos Edited Down To Inhales And Exhales Is Today’s Best Thing

A few years ago, we shared a compilation of pro-wrestling interviews and promos edited down to just inhales and exhales. It was weird, and kind of concerning. Does Ric Flair know he doesn’t breathe like a human? Anyway, we had a lot of fun, and now, years later, it’s time for (gasp) another video.

This edition features promos from Bam Bam Bigelow, Greg “The Hammer” Valentine, the holy trinity of Macho Man Randy Savage, Zeus and Sensational Sherri, and more. The highlight, as per usual, is the late, great “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, who is maybe the only person in wrestling besides Flair to sound aggressive via breath control. That guy had the sharp inhale mastered. Also of note is Koko B. Ware, whose hairstyle is so bad the gaspy video guy can’t even get through an entire promo.

I want to see a modern version of this. Wrestlers still do those heavy breaths, but they take way longer between sentences. They could probably get six minutes of Seth Rollins sighing and staring from the beginning or end of basically any 2015 Raw. By the time you got to the “run” at the end of a Bray Wyatt promo, you’d have enough breaths to fill a hot air balloon.
