The New ‘WWE 2K16’ Career Mode Lets You Chat Up Renee Young And Suck Up To The Authority

One of the weakest parts of last year’s WWE 2K15 was the game’s MyCareer mode. Building your ridiculous created character up from NXT to the World Championship sounds fun in theory, but the mode was mostly a slog, lacking any personality and not giving players much choice. Thankfully, it appears as if 2K Games is sprucing things up a bit for WWE 2K16.

This time around, you engage with backstage interviews with Renee Young (an excellent feature, right there) in which you can choose your responses and shape your character a bit. Also, the game will constantly keep track of your standing with The Authority, which will determine what opportunities and storylines you’re provided. Hey, points for realism. You can even run in on computer-controlled matches this year, setting off stories and rivalries. Of course, this year’s MyCareer could still be an overly drawn-out trudge like it was last year, but at least it looks like this year’s journey will provide a bit more variety.

WWE 2K16 will be smacking down store shelves October 27th.
