Randy Orton’s Injury Is ‘Significant’ And Could Keep Him Out Through WrestleMania

Last month, Randy Orton missed WWE’s tour of Mexico and was written out of WWE stories with a vague explanation about how the Wyatt Family might’ve beaten him up. As it turns out, Orton had dislocated his shoulder at home doing a simple chore — taking out the garbage — and would be on the shelf for an indeterminate amount of time.

According to an update on WWE.com, the situation doesn’t look good. The Viper’s injury could keep him out for up to half a year, which leaves him questionable for WrestleMania 32.

Here’s the diagnosis from WWE physician Dr. Steve Daquino:

“Randy has suffered from a dislocated shoulder. He’s had chronic problems with his shoulder, and a recent MRI that was done found he has a Bankart lesion in his shoulder, some stretched ligaments and a partially torn rotator cuff.

“At this point it’s a matter of when he dislocates the shoulder again, and not if. Surgery seems imminent, and recovery time for such a surgery would be four to six months.”

It’s been a terrible year for injuries in WWE, and this is a major one for the list. If Orton does end up missing WrestleMania 32, it’ll be the first WrestleMania without him since WrestleMania 19.
