Abdullah The Butcher Is Selling His WWE Hall Of Fame Ring To The Highest Bidder

Abdullah the Butcher has always been a confusing inclusion in WWE’s Hall of Fame. The dude never wrestled for WWE/F, certainly doesn’t fit with the company’s current squeaky-clean image and has been guilty of more than his share of shady behavior, including infecting fellow wrestlers with hepatitis C (and probably fork-transmitted tetanus). Nevertheless, WWE went ahead an inducted Abby in 2011.

Well, if they weren’t before, I’d say WWE is definitely regretting the induction now, because Abdullah the Butcher is reportedly trying to sell his WWE Hall of Fame ring. The news was announced on a podcast by Diafullah Dobashi, a protege and handler of sorts for Abby.

“The legendary WWE Hall of Famer Abdullah the Butcher, his WWE Hall of Fame Ring is up for sale to the highest bidder. If you’re interested, e-mail me.”

It’s tempting to judge Abdullah harshly, but he’s reportedly suffering from health problems, needs a hip replacement and the hep C lawsuits can’t have left him in a great financial state. As mentioned above, he never really had any association with WWE, so why should he treasure this one thing they randomly gave him? Really, this story is more sad than anything. Hopefully this whole embarassing situation spurs WWE to help out a man they, apparently, consider one of the best of all time.
