Chris Jericho Served As Guest Ring Announcer At An Indie Show Over The Weekend

2016 in pro wrestling is a world of possibilities. There are no boundaries anymore, no limits on what wrestlers can do or accomplish or where they can appear, regardless of whether they’re under contract tonight. Pretty much the only thing still off-limits to WWE Superstars these days is literally appearing on TNA weekly television. But we still keep running into situations where a WWE wrestler can show up on a UK indie show to attack a TNA wrestler, or a WWE-partnered promotion can host a “WWE vs. TNA” war without actually saying those words.

And with the biggest wrestling company looking to spread its tendrils even further into the international independent scene in 2017, and with NXT basically functioning as a modern-day, ongoing King of the Indies, you can expect those boundaries to be even more fluid going forward.

This is all a very longwinded way of saying that the above video features Chris Jericho popping up in Pennsylvania to grab the microphone as an impromptu guest wring announcer at an IWC show this past weekend.

I mean, he’s Chris Jericho, so he can pretty much do whatever the hell he wants anyway, but this kind of thing would have been unthinkable even a few years ago. In 2016, we can’t help but wonder if The New Day will have a cameo in Tag Team Apocalypto this week. Stranger things have happened. Well … okay, maybe not THAT strange.

Go to your local indie shows, everyone. Maybe Roman Reigns will be there wrestling Drew Blood or whatever.
