The Unlikely Duo Of Dolph Ziggler And Kane Are Starring In WWE’s Latest Action Move, ‘6:42’

Over the past few weeks, Dolph Ziggler and Kane have been off TV nursing a fake throat injury and fake broken ankle respectively. When wrestlers disappear from TV for storyline reasons, it’s usually because they’re off shooting WWE Studios’ latest prestige picture, and, sure enough, it turns out Dolph Ziggler and Kane are starring together in the terribly-titled 6:42, as a renegade narcotics cop and his hard-ass, by the books captain. Yup, Kane has gone from serial killer to dude behind a desk in WWE’s cinematic universe, too.

Here’s the official synopsis for WWE Studios’ latest movie based on a rejected Die Hard script…

“Ray Fitzpatrick (WWE Superstar Dolph Ziggler) is a tough as nails narcotics cop working the beat in Los Angeles. After a drug bust goes wrong, Ray is forced to shoot his own partner, leading to his suspension from the police force. Before you know it, Ray is dragged right back into the thick of it when a mysterious package arrives at the station addressed to him.”

Am I the only one imagining tough-as-nails Dolph Ziggler working the beat in Lieutenant Dangle short-shorts? Well, now I’m not the only one with that in my head.

“The package leads Ray and his colleagues to an encrypted website where an unidentified kidnapper broadcasts a threat to Ray and the entire police force. The kidnapper, it turns out, is holding a young boy hostage and unless the police department can come up with a $2 million ransom, he’ll set off a time-bomb strapped to the child’s chest.”

An encrypted website! That must have sounded pretty nifty when this script was written in 1994.

“The department, led by Lt. Cronin (WWE Superstar Kane) comes up with the payoff and Ray is tasked as the bagman. When the handover goes down, Ray is forced to shoot and kill the kidnapper before he can set off the bomb and kill the child.”

“You’re a loose cannon, Zigg–er, I mean Fitzpatrick! Leave your badge and gun on my desk!”

[As they hit the desk, fire erupts from Captain Kane’s wastepaper basket].

“With 6 hours and 42 minutes left before the timed explosive detonates, Ray and Internal Affairs agent Julia Baker (Katharine Isabelle from “See No Evil 2″) race against time to find the now deceased kidnapper’s hidden lair and save the child before it’s too late.”

Man, I can’t wait for all those sneaky See No Evil 2 inside references when Kane and Katharine Isabelle are reunited on screen. Here’s actor’s actor Kane hyping his involvement in 6:42 while holding his cellphone the wrong way.

Dolph Ziggler shows the world his acting skills sometime in 2016.
