Look, it’s hard to keep track of all the games on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Is it possible that “Blow Your Mind” has appeared on the show before? Sure, probably. Fallon and guest Dwayne Johnson certainly acted like they knew what was happening.
Not that the premise was hard to figure out or anything: The ghostly, ethereal head of ?uestlove asked some true or false questions, and if the guesser is wrong, he gets blasted in the face by an air cannon. Simple. Also, there are wigs.
While I love the acid-freakout setup of the whole endeavor, the real selling point is the whole “blasted in the face” thing, which they really help you out with by providing super slow-mo replays. As you watch this, please take note of how weird it is to see The Rock with any semblance of hair these days. It’s exceedingly unnatural.
Between Rock’s stint hosting SNL this weekend, and Baywatch opening soon, and The Fate of the Furious coming out on DVD at some point, and Jumanji and Rampage also being things that are happening, buckle up for a full remainder-of-2017 full of Dwayne Johnson talk show appearances. Maybe by November or so, he’ll be playing a game called “Can The Rock Throw Jimmy Fallon Into The Hudson River?”
