Goldberg Claims He Still Has A Whole Lot Of Wrestling Left In Him

Bill Goldberg’s inclusion as a pre-order exclusive for the upcoming WWE 2K17 video game — and its accompanying commercial, featuring the hashtag hatch and a Suplex City easter egg — has people wondering if one of WCW’s biggest legends will be returning to a WWE ring soon.

In an interview with Dot Com, Goldberg addressed the possibility of one more match with a jackhammer-on-The-Giant-sized declaration: He doesn’t just have one more match in the tank, he’s got fifty.

WWE.COM: Do you think you have one more match in you?

GOLDBERG: I’ve got 50 more in me. It just depends on the ability to keep it up to my standards. I love everybody to death and I greatly appreciate their opinions, but none of it matters except for mine, because I hold myself to such high standards.

The reality is, you’ve got movies, TV appearances, a kid, you’re 49 years old … things aren’t like they used to be. It’s a completely different day. I’m 20 to 30 pounds less than what I was because I just don’t need to be that dude with traps from his ears to his shoulders. Would I like to be that guy again? Absolutely. He’s still in there.

To break it down, 20 of those are against Jerry Flynn and 20 are against Hugh Morrus. Let’s hope at least one more is against Glacier.

Not counting his run-in appearances at Legends of Wrestling shows, the 49-year-old legend’s last full match was against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XX in 2004. We’ll keep you updated on any developments or announcements, and keep track of how long it takes one of pro wrestling’s most absurd physical specimens to go from a mild-mannered hatch dweller to a dude with traps from his ears to his shoulders.
