WWE’s Kevin Owens Got A Shout Out In The Canadian House Of Commons Of All Places

It’s easy to see why so many romanticize Canadian politics. What with our smugly feminist and often shirtless Prime Minister, our ability to go to the hospital without a GoFundMe account already set up, and our Liberal majority holding things down on the Hill. Any attempt to explain that our government is also pretty effed up and problematic, however, just totally got put on hold:

Yup, that’s a Canadian Member of Parliament telling the House of Commons about the dominance of Québéc native and current Universal Champion Kevin Owens. During the week, MPs have the chance to spend a minute addressing the House with “virtually any matter of local, provincial, national or international concern,” as long as they adhere to these strict and unsurprisingly polite conditions. The NDP’s Matthew Dubé used his time to praise Owens’ accomplishments in WWE:

I offer my congratulations to this wrestler and native of Marieville, which is in my riding. He joins legends of wrestling from Quebec and Canada like Pat Patterson, Maurice ‘Mad Dog’ Vachon, Bret Hart, Chris Jericho, and of course his trainer, Jacques Rougeau.

Owens commended Dubé on his statement, saying that if he ever needed help on Raw, he’d let him know. I know Raw has a fancy new look and all, but soon…soon it’ll look like this and there’s nothing you can do about it:

SORRY NOT SORRY

(Okay kinda sorry. ….sorry.)
