Injuries are now so commonplace nowadays, it feels like WWE has a dedicated team speifically to pump out emotional videos about them. Neville is the latest to join the ever-growing list of main-roster WWE Superstars on IR, and he — understandably — wasn’t too thrilled about it.
Neville injured his left ankle after an awkward baseball slide during a match against Chris Jericho on Monday’s episode of Raw. Though Jericho was able to cause a DQ finish and still give him the win, Neville was quite visibly in distress.
As a reminder, here’s the official word from WWE:
“Neville sustained a left ankle injury on a baseball slide during his match with Chris Jericho,” Dr. Chris Amann told WWE.com. “Initial X-rays reveal a fracture of the ankle. He will undergo further imaging today to determine the extent of the fracture and to determine if surgery will be necessary.”
With WrestleMania right around the corner, an injury like this will definitely see Neville on the shelf for the biggest event of the year. Hopefully surgery can be avoided and he won’t have to miss too much more time. On the upside, maybe fellow injured Superstar Cesaro will be sweet enough to bring him balloons if he does?
