Last Month at NXT TakeOver: Rival, Kevin Owens mauled poor Sami Zayn, taking his hard-earned NXT Championship. Zayn has been missing in action pretty much ever since, but most of us just assumed it was an angle. He was “injured” or had lost his smile or something, but was actually fine and would be back soon. Sadly, that may not be the case.
Zayn was at both the recent NXT house shows in Columbus, Ohio, but he didn’t wrestle at either of them. Instead, he cut promos in street clothes about being proud of NXT. Apparently, they were good promos, but still, kind of odd. Zayn later commented on these promos on his Facebook page…
“Thanks to everyone who came out and supported NXT in Ohio this past weekend. I meant every word I said. This is a group that is taking control of our own destiny and taking over the industry in the process. Revolution is in the air and thanks for being a part of it.”
Of course, this could all be part of an angle, but the Wrestling Observer recently reported that Zayn is indeed legitimately hurt and out of action. Let’s pray it’s not his skanking muscle.
Hopefully Zayn and his friend/rival Kevin Owens recover soon because the show sure could use them. I can only take so much Alex Riley.
