‘Arrow’ Star Stephen Amell Jumped Into A WWE Ring On Raw, And Now He’s Wrestling At SummerSlam

You have failed this city, Stardust.

Stephen Amell — TV’s Green Arrow and soon-to-be Casey Jones in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 — has been trying to get involved in a story on WWE Raw for months. In September of last year, he launched a campaign to guest host the host the show, saying he’d “wrestle and everything.” WWE’s Stardust (the former Cody Rhodes) has been namedropping him for weeks, suggesting the two might come to blows at SummmerSlam. Last night’s Raw blew that wide open.

Early in the night, The Miz found Amell in the crowd and offered to give him acting lessons, which is the kind of thing you can offer when you’ve starred in more than one TV movie about Christmas.

Later on, Neville defeated King Barrett with the Red Arrow (no relation) and got jumped by Stardust. When it was over, Stardust confronted Amell at ringside and pie-faced him. That was enough to make Amell jump the security railing, jump into the ring over the top rope and spear Stardust to the ground. The two brawled until security (“security”) could separate them.

Backstage, the match was made official: Stephen Amell will team with Neville to face Stardust and King Barrett at SummerSlam. I don’t expect anyone to get shot with a boxing glove arrow, but can we at least dress Barrett up like the Clock King?
