Independent Wrestling Star Tommy End May Be On The Verge Of Signing With WWE

On Sunday’s episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer dropped a bit of news regarding international free agent Tommy End, who is a native of the Netherlands and has spent the past few years building a strong name for himself on the independent wrestling scene. Meltzer indicated that the Dutch wrestler might be WWE bound in short order.

“Tommy End is – pending medicals – probably headed to NXT. It’s not a secret NXT is heavily recruiting right now for new talent. Tommy End is a guy that has been on the radar for some time now and he’s probably going in. In fact, I think he said something [about how] he is leaving wXw in August, so people were starting to speculate, ‘Does that mean Ring of Honor, does that mean New Japan? What does it mean?’ And it does mean WWE.”

wXw, which runs out of Germany, is one of the promotions where End first made a name for himself. He is a former wXw Unified World Heavyweight Champion and the promotion is already promoting that his last date for the company will be on August 13 in Cologne.

End has been all over the United States in 2015 and 2016, wrestling well-received matches in PWG and EVOLVE, among other promotions. He was at EVOLVE and with WWN for their big shows on Royal Rumble and WrestleMania weekends and had recently been teaming with Chris Hero as the tag team Heroes Eventually Die.

If you’re not familiar with End, he is a big, heavily tattooed guy who has a very strike-heavy offense. He is also part of a tag team called Sumerian Death Squad and — thanks to leaning heavily on black metal- and offense-based iconography — has bar-none the coolest merch in pro wrestling.

If you want to take a look at End in action, here is a very good music video of some highlights:

And of course, here’s one from the ubiquitous “top moves” genre:

If you want to learn more about him as a person, the always-candid End did a highly entertaining AMA on Reddit a couple months back, plus he was a guest on Colt Cabana’s Art of Wrestling last year. And if you’re in the mood for a bit of a throwback, here is a much younger End wrestling none other than Daniel Bryan in wXw back in 2010:
