Triple H Emphatically Stated That Samoa Joe Vs. Shinsuke Nakamura Is Coming

After what can be considered another fantastic WWE NXT card in NXT Takeover: The End, WWE’s COO Triple H jumped on a Facebook Live Feed and broke down the card match by match while giving a few glimpses into the future of the black and yellow brand.

Of particular importance was Triple H’s comments on the excellent Samoa Joe vs. Finn Balor steel cage main event. Hunter first started by saying, “Samoa Joe is really hitting his stride here. He’s a monster,” to which he’s very correct. Samoa Joe finished off his rivalry with Balor by executing a Muscle Buster from the ropes. But, it was Triple H’s comments following his analysis of the match that were really intriguing.

“If I’m Samoa Joe, I’d be looking hard at Shinsuke Nakamura, because that’s coming.”

Indeed, Nakamura — after two high-profile Takeover matches with Sami Zayn and Austin Aries respectively — is looking mighty deserving of a title match. In another great performance, Nakamura was able to defeat Aries on Wednesday night’s card, and now — if we’re to believe Triple H — it looks like Joe and Nakamura are on a collision course. We’ll have to watch NXT in the next few weeks to see how that shakes out.

Here’s a few more nuggets that Triple H dropped during the Facebook Live feed.

  • Tye Dillinger is “the most underrated guy” on the NXT roster.
  • Cien had a “hell of debut.”
  • The Revival are going to “revolutionize tag team wrestling.”
  • On Paul Ellering’s showing: “Not 100% sure what that was all about.”
  • On Nakamura: “He’s hard to explain.”
  • On Bobby Roode’s appearance: “Again, just an example of the whole world wanting to be here.”
  • “Asuka is arguably the best in the world.”
  • On fresh talent entering the NXT women’s division: The division “is about to get really interesting.”
