Your Presumptive WrestleMania 32 Card: January 2016 Edition

So, um, everybody’s hurt. Between last month and today, the whole WrestleMania card is upside down because of a main-event that’s up in the air after Cena’s injury. Daniel Bryan is also maybe never wrestling again, so there’s even more sadness. Plus there’s the already-injured Rollins, Orton, Cesaro and whoever else. However, I think a few of these guys are showing up in time for WrestleMania and the company is just holding these appearances tight for now. I wouldn’t be surprised if Randy Orton pops up between now and April to get involved with a match somehow. I’ve been itching for him to wrestle Brock, but that’s just a pipe dream.

Whatever the case, WWE spent a few weeks scrambling, but it appears they’ve settled into their big matches for WrestleMania. The only obstacle is us actually figuring it out ahead of time. Also, as early reports are coming in that ‘Mania is mostly sold out anyway, they may not be as pressed to have so many big-ticket matches as they wanted when they had the arduous task of selling out Jerry World.

So, here goes my guesses. Enjoy calling me dumb in the comments.

The Undertaker’s Main-Event

So, we’ve pretty much established that this is The Undertaker’s great, big sendoff match. And right now, he’s match-less. WWE reportedly doesn’t have any replacement for Cena as of yet, and there doesn’t seem to be anyone big enough to make this match happen. So, what happens?

Undertaker is going to wrestle…

*drumroll*

John Cena.

Come on, guys. It’s John Cena. If there’s one person who’s going to recover from a freakish injury ahead of time, it’s WWE’s poster boy. Plus, I’m not sure how strenuous of a match he’ll need to have with ‘Taker to make it decent. I don’t know. I’m still the guy who thought Daniel Bryan was winning the Rumble, so maybe my brain has stopped processing the fact that injuries are actually happening.

The World Title Match

So, the championship match is pretty much set, right? WrestleMania looks like it’s heading to Triple H vs. Roman Reigns. There will be a triple threat match at Fastlane to determine the #1 contender for Triple H’s belt (I just typed that in 2016). Ambrose, Reigns and Lesnar will be the competitors. And, man, it’s pretty obvious that we’re getting interference to take Lesnar out. Then we’ll have Reigns and Ambrose, with Reigns probably winning fair and square again. This could lead to some Ambrose/Reigns feuding immediately after ‘Mania.

But there’s still a possibility that there’s a monkey wrench somewhere here. If I’m thinking outside the box, Ambrose finally turns on Reigns and they fight at Mania. Then we still need to have Triple H wrestle someone at Mania. What if that becomes The Undertaker’s spot? What if we get ANOTHER Undertaker vs. Hunter match? This time for the belt and Undertaker’s last match.

Who am I kidding? It’s Reigns vs. Hunter whether we want it or not.

The Rock Is Doing What, Now?

After Monday Night, I’m not sure what the hell WWE can trust him to do that won’t take up half the show. It’s pretty clear he’s not going to wrestle. Can he even do a Rock Bottom? What are the parameters of his movie insurance situation? I’m guessing that he’ll end up in Roman’s corner to totally overshadow the main-event. Then he’ll take 12 minutes to walk up the steps, Rock Bottom Triple H and end the show.

Or maybe New Day will destroy him again.

The Undercard

Kevin Owens vs. The World – You didn’t believe me when I insisted that Sami Zayn would get called up to wrestle Kevin Owens at ‘Mania and look where we are. There’s a clear build to this feud happening. However, it seems like it’s just part of a larger IC title picture as Owens teased a feud with AJ Styles, too. So, it seems like we’re getting another IC title ladder match with Ambrose, Owens, Zayn, Styles, Jericho (?) and Neville. Then maybe Zayn and Owens take their feud one-on-one through the next few months.

Brock Lesnar vs. Bray Wyatt – Yep. I’m putting this firmly in the undercard section because that’s exactly where this match belongs. It seems like Brock is realizing he’s a midcard attraction at WrestleMania this year and wondering why he signed that contract. This match doesn’t do anything for anyone and is a letdown. Plus, we get Bray doing a reverse Undertaker streak and starting his career at 0-3.

Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte – THIS IS THE MAIN-EVENT IN MY MIND IDC IDC IDC. The Rumble return for Sasha solidified this feud happening and I love it. Any chance we get a Divas Elimination Chamber between now and April to help push this feud, too?

The New Day…? – The New Day has dismantled the tag team division by being more dominant and entertaining than everyone else. While I would have loved to have Big E face Brock and go from there, I have another idea: Let all three of them win the Andre the Giant Battle Royal. F*ck it. Just have the three of them be the last men standing. Hell, maybe they all jump out at the same time and leave Francesca in the ring so she can win.
