Brock Lesnar Will Get A Chance To Wreck Rusev At A WWE Live Event In Mexico

There’s one thing you can say for certain about Brock Lesnar: he sure doesn’t work a lot. Sure, he pops up several times a year for a dream rematch, or a WrestleMania or SummerSlam bout, or even for the occasional beyond-disastrous Raw segment, but by and large his cushy contract means he doesn’t work a whole lot of dates. But one of his last appearances of 2016 will be a house show (or “Live Event”) in Mexico in December. And now we know who he’ll be facing.

On Wednesday, WWE.com announced Lesnar’s opponent for that event would be none other than the Bulgarian Brute, Rusev. This is a lowkey dream match, but it will likely not be anything earth-shattering. You know, given that it’s set to be a non-televised house show and everything.

Mexico City becomes Suplex City this December! WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar will step into the ring in Mexico City, Saturday, Dec. 3, for a thrilling WWE Live Event at the Arena Ciudad de Mexico. The show starts at 8 p.m. local time.

Joined by his advocate, the always-outspoken Paul Heyman, this Live Event marks The Beast Incarnate’s first in Mexico with WWE. And it won’t be an easy night for Lesnar, since his opponent that evening will be none other than The Bulgarian Brute, Rusev.

There’s always a chance WWE could turn this event into a WWE Network special. THE BEAST IN THE SOUTH, anyone? I mean, hell, *I* would sure watch the heck out of a Lesnar vs. Rusev match, no matter how underwhelming it might end up. Just don’t squash Rusev too badly, Brock. We need him to continue bringing joy to our lives on a weekly basis.
