Roman Reigns Will Be The Next Challenger For Kevin Owens’ WWE Universal Championship

As everyone who watches Raw knows, WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens is currently embroiled in a feud with Seth Rollins that includes thievery of a piece of paper and best friends’ loyalties being vaguely threatened. All that will be put on hold for the next few weeks, however (not really), as Owens focuses on being part of the Raw Survivor Series team. But what comes next for our beleaguered champion of the universe?

First reported by Dave Meltzer at the Wrestling Observer, the current plan (which, as always, is subject to change) is to follow up Survivor Series with a champion vs. champion feud between Roman Reigns and Owens for the month of December. That would potentially include the December Raw pay-per-view, Roadblock. (Yes, there was already a Roadblock this year. Maybe this will be El Hijo De Roadblock. Roadblock 2: Block Roader. You know that we here at With Spandex are big fans of all wrestling Roadblocks.)

UPDATE: It’s already official!

So yeah, once Owens puts Rollins behind him (for the time being), he’ll move on to United States Champion Roman Reigns. And we all remember what happened the last time the world champ feuded with the U.S. champ: Jon Stewart got all up in the mix. So look for Owens to retain at Roadblock when John Oliver runs in to EVISCERATE Roman Reigns’ inconsistent political ideologies.
