Returning Cruiserweight Classic Wrestlers Are Booked For The First Episode Of ‘205 Live’

On Tuesday night, WWE will air the very first episode of “205 Live,” (officially AKA “106 and La Parka”) (still the best joke) the new weekly, live WWE Network show showcasing the burgeoning cruiserweight division. Many are hoping that the show will be a return to the type of matches that were showcased in the highly acclaimed Cruiserweight Classic tournament over the summer. The Raw version of the cruiserweight division has been somewhat inexplicably sterilized, but there’s a chance the wrestlers will once again be able to cut loose on their own show. One hopes, anyway.

We already knew that a good amount of the Cruiserweight Classic wrestlers would be showing up, since pretty much everyone shy of Kota Ibushi and Zack Sabre Jr. signed with WWE during the course of the tournament, but there are a few returning faces who have been largely absent since the division moved to Raw.

According to PWInsider, Gran Metalik will be making his return. The CWC runner-up had been finishing up dates in Mexico and moving his family to the United States since his appearance on the first post-CWC Raw. Also returning will be Akira Tozawa, who has been renamed in “Tozawa,” according to WWE custom. He was last spotted in the NXT roster’s “mannequin challenge” video. The Bollywood Boyz, Harv and Gurv Sihra, will also be back, although they have been on NXT television in the past month, getting ruined by the Authors of Pain in the opening round of the Dusty Classic.

The episode will, of course, be headlined by a WWE Cruiserweight Championship match between Brian Kendrick and No. 1 Contender Rich Swann.
