WWE Raw Open Discussion Thread 9/26/16

It’s just a day after WWE Clash of Champions, the first Raw-branded PPV of the New Era. How will things play out after Sunday’s shenanigans?

Tonight on the With Spandex WWE Raw open discussion thread:

After defeating Sami Zayn last night at WWE Clash of Champions, Chris Jericho helped his best friend Kevin Owens seize a victory over Seth Rollins in the main event of Raw’s first exclusive pay-per-view on WWE Network. Will Jeri-KO keep that momentum going tonight, or will the frustrated Architect attain retribution against the calculating Canadians? – via WWE.com

Our five-point preview:

1. In case you missed it, Roman Reigns is your new United States Champion, because sure, why not. *extreme Hank Williams, Jr voice* “ARE YOU READY FOR A REMAAAAATCH?” Reigns has seemingly dominated Rusev, including in the face of distractions and ref bumps and false pins. Will Lana and Rusev put their beautiful European heads together and figure out a way to snatch the title back, or will Reigns take the US Title to new heights? (The answer to both is no)

2. After even more interference during last night’s main event, Kevin Owens remains the Universal Champion. Seth Rollins is growing increasingly suspicious that his duplicitous bosses that he used to heel around with may be lying? The married couple in a position of power may be in this together because the bonds of matrimony may actually be stronger than Commissioner-Employee They Never Really Liked All That Much? Ten points to Seth if he does his in-ring callout dressed as Columbo. A hundred points if he brings the dog to remain canonical to both the show and his real championship role.

3. It’s Rematch City as The New Day take on Gallows and Anderson. Will WWE have the guys who were testicle PhDs or whatever end the trio’s 400-day Freebird rule (eh? ehhhhhh?), or will they remember that they employ other tag teams on Raw and move forward after putting the final stamp on this feud? Will this finally be those Puerto Rican’s time to shine(ing star)? Haha, naw. That’ll never happen.

4. Sheamus and Cesaro finished off their Best of Seven series with…well, no real finish. Their Clash of Champions match ended with a no contest, leaving General Manager Mick Foley to determine how he’ll handle the tie. Will there be an eight match on Raw? Will he just say f*ck it and make them a physically dominant tag team/also best friends? Will they move on to traditional tests of strength, like weightlifting, or pulling a jumbo jet with their teeth? And who do we talk to so we can just get all of those?

5. TJ Perkins says he has unfinished business with Brian Kendrick after he gave TJP a post-match headbutt during Sunday’s show. Whatever he has planned for the veteran, we just hope this is Kendrick’s new titantron, and murking dudes is just his thing now.

We’re including 10 of the best comments from tonight’s open discussion thread in tomorrow’s Best and Worst of Raw column, so +1 your favorites to nominate them for consideration. Enjoy the show!
