WWE Raw Results:

— The show opened with a recap of Braun Strowman’s beatdown of Roman Reigns last week. Then Strowman came to the ring and said he’s proud of what he did to Reigns. He said that with Roman out of the way, he’s going to tear through the locker room and prove that he is a monster among men. Raw general manager Kurt Angle came out and made a match between Strowman and Reigns at Payback. Strowman said it will be Reigns’ funeral and asked what about tonight. Angle said he’s lucky he isn’t suspended and he can consider this a night off. Strowman said not to play games with him. He wants competition tonight, or else. He dropped the microphone and left.

1. Samoa Joe defeated Chris Jericho. Seth Rollins sat in on commentary for this match. Joe got Jericho to tap out to the Coquina Clutch. Joe called out Rollins after the match, and Rollins said Payback will be a bitch.

— Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows demanded competition of their own, and Enzo Amore and Big Cass answered the challenge.

2. The Club defeated Enzo Amore and Big Cass. Gallows put himself in the way of the Badaboomshakalaka to save Anderson. Cass took out Gallows, while Anderson hit a sort of knees-first Snake Eyes on Enzo to get the pin.

— The Miz and Maryse hosted MizTV, with guest Dean Ambrose. Ambrose and Miz traded insults and Miz said Dean will never break the glass ceiling. Ambrose said he does this because he loves it, and no one works harder than him. Miz said he worked to bring prestige back to the Intercontinental Championship, and now Ambrose is ruining it. Ambrose finally attacked Miz. Both men went for their finishers, but neither was able to connect. Ambrose ran off Miz and Maryse.

3. TJ Perkins defeated Jack Gallagher. Neville made a “special appearance” before the match to sit ringside, as did No. 1 contender Austin Aries. Gallagher got sent into Aries, and Neville then hit Aries from behind. Perkins won the match by pinfall after the Detonation Kick.

4. Fatal 4-Way No. 1 Contender Match: Alexa Bliss defeated Sasha Banks, Nia Jax and Mickie James. Jax hit Sasha with the Samoan Drop, but Bliss dropkicked her out of the ring and stole the pin.

5. Finn Bálor defeated Curt Hawkins. Hawkins once again issued an open challenge, and Bálor answered, winning via pinfall after the Coup de Grace.

6. Jeff Hardy defeated Cesaro. Both Matt Hardy and Sheamus were at ringside. Jeff hit the Twist of Fate and then the Swanton Bomb to get the pin. All four men shook hands after the match.

7. Braun Strowman NC The Big Show. Earlier in the show, Strowman had attacked Goldust, R-Truth and Kalisto backstage, until Big Show knocked him down and told him to pick on someone his own size. The match was built around the two men teasing a superplex, and Strowman finally hit it on Show to collapse the ring. Strowman stood tell as trainers checked on Big Show. It is possible the referees determined Strowman the winner by KO.
