WWE Raw Results 8/15/16

Here are your quick and dirty, editorial-free WWE Raw results for August 15, 2016. This was the go-home episode of Raw before the upcoming, massive SummerSlam weekend, so there was plenty of facing off and “what’s going to happen” intrigue. Like, three hours of it.

Be back here tomorrow for the full Best and Worst of Raw column.

WWE Raw Results:

— The show opens with Seth Rollins outside the arena, pledging to find the “Demon King.”

— Inside the arena, Rusev and Lana are in the ring complaining about the unfairness of Roman Reigns getting a title shot without having earned it and they threaten to hold Raw hostage. Mick Foley comes out to tell him to pound sand, but Rusev demands to speak to Stephanie McMahon. Stephanie takes Foley’s side. Reigns comes out and insults Rusev and Lana more. Foley declares their title match will still happen at SummerSlam, but they will also fight tonight, for Lana’s honor.

1. Sami Zayn defeated Sheamus. Cesaro, who had been sitting in on commentary for the match, threatened to come onto the ring apron. Sheamus took a swing, allowing Zayn to hit the Helluva Kick for the win.

— Backstage, Sheamus and Cesaro got in each other’s faces and Foley announced he was putting them in a best of seven series, starting at SummerSlam.

2. The New Day defeated The Dudley Boyz. Doctors Gallows and Anderson taunted The New Day via TitanTron before and after the match, but Kofi Kingston managed to hit D-Von Dudley with Trouble in Paradise to pick up the win in a non-title match.

3. Nia Jax defeated Rachel Levi. Levi got a pre-match jobber interview, but got defeated by Jax within minutes.

— Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman came to the ring to talk about SummerSlam, but they were interrupted by the hottest free agent in sports entertainment, Heath Slater. Slater said if he defeats Lesnar, he will earn a Raw contract. Lesnar destroys Slater with an F5 and he and Heyman continue their spiel.

4. Big Cass defeated Kevin Owens. Chris Jericho was causing problems on the outside throughout the match. Finally, things broke down and Jericho got involved, beating on Cass and drawing the DQ.

5. The Shining Stars defeated the Prime Time Players. During this “one time only” PTP reunion, Darren Young accidentally hit Titus O’Neil on the apron. In response, O’Neil hit Young with the Clash of the Titus, allowing the Shining Stars to get the pin.

6. Neville defeated Jinder Mahal. This was the first (real) televised match for Mahal since returning to WWE. Neville won a short match with the Red Arrow.

— Seth Rollins still can’t find the Demon King, so Mick Foley recommends he look in the ring. Rollins goes to the ring and says no one can stop him from becoming the Universal Champion. He gives the Demon King one last chance to show himself. The Demon King appeared and the two fought, with Finn Bálor driving Rollins from the ring.

7. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson defeated Golden Truth. The Club won with the Magic Killer. After the match, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods hit the ring and beat down the Club. They tried to hit Anderson in the genitals with a trombone, but Gallows made the save.

8. Charlotte defeated Alicia Fox. Sasha Banks sat in on commentary for the match. Before the match, Charlotte called Dana Brooke a loser and said she would find a new protege. Charlotte won with Natural Selection, then called Banks to the ring. Banks obliged, but was then jumped from behind by Brooke and beaten down by both women.

9. Roman Reigns defeated Rusev. Reigns managed to fight to the ropes to escape the Accolade, then eventually hit a spear for the win.
