In the wake of Backlash, SmackDown LIVE returns tonight with a slew of new champions. But, will one-half of the first SmackDown Tag Team Champions Heath Slater make it through his contract signing without messing it up? – via WWE.com
Our five-point preview:
1. Hapless father figure Heath Slater successfully won the Tag Team Title tournament at Backlash with the help of Rhyno. Will he mess it up as badly as WWE seems to think he will, or will Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon get in the way by continuing to be total b-holes to this generation’s Randy Anderson?
2. Becky Lynch was able to make it through the Six-Pack challenge, despite not even showing her abs. Will all these blissed-off women force her to be a fighting champion, or will focus shift to the ongoing feud between Nikki Bella and Carmella? And is there anything she could do to Carmella that’s worse than growing up in Staten Island?
3. Kane and Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt are now deeply embroiled in a three-way battle to see who WWE Creative has less ideas for. Will Kane and Bray Wyatt go back to fighting over which demon is the Devil’s favorite son, or will Randy Orton reveal that he is Legion so Shane McMahon can get a group discount on exorcisms?
4. AJ Styles is your new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Will Dean Ambrose exercise his rematch clause, or create a series of elaborate and unfortunate events to torment Styles with Ambrose’s own brand of prop comedy? Or both? We hope it’s both.
5. Maryse used underhanded tactics to help her husband retain the Intercontinental Championship. Will this episode finally be the career assassination of The Miz by the coward Daniel Bryan?
