Our five-point preview:
1. Hey, it’s the go-home show for a Smackdown-exclusive pay-per-view! It feels like it’s been ages since that happened! In just a few short days we’ll find out whether Jinder will be unhindered all the way to the world f*cking championship.
2. Rusev is supposed to be back tonight! He has made demands of Shane McMahon for his own world title match. Will he get it? LOL no.
3. Tonight, the New Face of America, Kevin Owens, will sarcastically host Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel segment. That’s just kicking a guy while he’s on tour with his band, Kevin. For shame.
4. No. 1 contender to the United States Championship AJ Styles will take on No. 1 contender to the WWE Championship Jinder Mahal. This match will DEFINITELY have a clean finish. You can mark that right on down in your Moleskine.
5. Also tonight: a non-title match between Randy Orton and Baron Corbin. This match, on the other hand, will definitely have a clean finish, and hopefully Corbin doesn’t get hurt too badly by being pinned by the world champ. Let’s just hurry up and move on to the part where Barry C. is a legitimate world title contender, please and thank you. (We’ll probably have to wait until, like, November for that.)
