Sting Has Been Flown To New York And Could Make An Appearance On This Monday’s Raw

As we reported last month, it seems there were originally plans to pit Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Sting against a fully-reformed Wyatt Family at this year’s SummerSlam. Unfortunately, WWE eventually decided to push Sting’s big return to the back burner, likely because there were already too many stars crammed into the SummerSlam card.

Well, it looks like some sort of Sting match may be in the works again. According to PWInsider, Sting has been rushed back to the New York area for this Monday, after originally heading home on Saturday. It seems likely that Sting will be on Raw, although there’s no saying what his role might be. Between the Ropes recently asked Dean Ambrose about Sting being involved in his and Roman Reigns’ feud with the Wyatts, and he denied it in his trademark wacky way, but then hinted something might be coming down the line…

“Anytime you get to see Sting in WWE, it’s a dream. Nobody ever thought he would be here, to see him at WrestleMania was awesome. I have a feeling…you know, Sting is always very mysterious and he keeps it real like that, and I like that about Sting. I would hope that we see Sting in a WWE ring again.”

Hmmmm! There’s a lot of interesting stuff potentially on the table for tonight. Make sure those DVRs are recording.

Update: This story previously mentioned that Undertaker was supposed to be on tonight’s Raw, but latest word is he’s returned to his home in Texas.
