Steve Austin Pleads With WWE To Come Up With ‘Better Storylines’ For Roman Reigns

It’s no secret that Roman Reigns has his detractors. Fans all over the world take delight in booing the guy, even if they don’t necessarily have anything against him. He’s currently embroiled in a blood feud with legitimate national hero Rusev, and now even his cousins are kicking the leg out of people’s legs because Roman is so despised. But Reigns has one very important die-hard fan: “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.

On a recent episode of The Steve Austin Show, the WWE Hall of Famer took the time to talk about how much he is a fan of Reigns, but he also wanted to give some very sound advice to the Big Dog. Austin’s advice also included a plea to WWE creative to start giving the guy something to do other than push loving wives into cakes for a change.

“He needs a little bit more fire on the offense, a little more active, sell on the run on defense. I think that’d help him out. He needs to pick his head up. He needs to sell on the run, be more active. He has a bad habit of dying when he sells. To his credit, he will sell for anybody. He’s very unselfish in the ring in regards to that. But because he sells so much, he just needs a more active sell to keep those people buying in, so he can get that sympathy. He’s a big, good looking guy. He’s putting his game together. Come up with better storylines for the guy. I still have high hopes for Roman Reigns.”

It’s sort of stunning how clued into everything world-class wrestlers are. They notice stuff no one else notices and can lay out exactly how to make small tweaks to get entire arenas full of people more behind you. And of course, “get some stories that aren’t garbage” is some pretty great advice that you don’t have to be one of the greatest wrestlers of all time in order to deliver.
