Ariana Grande And Nicki Minaj’s VMA Performance Was A Neon ’80s Workout Dream

Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj performed “Side To Side” at tonight’s MTV Video Music Awards. The brightly lit performance started with the pop singer giving her dancers a spin class before she transitioned into some gymnastics moves. Meanwhile, Nicki’s dancers did bicep curls as she rapped her verse.

“Side To Side” is the latest single from her latest album, Dangerous Woman. Earlier today, Grande send out a tweet stating the music video for the song would debut after the VMAs, updating a previous announcement about the visual’s premiere.

The live performance was the latest part of the push for her third solo album. It follows videos for “Let Me Love You” with Lil Wayne and “Into You,” as well as a powerful performance at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards.

Most recently, the 22-year-old released a remix of “Into You” with rumored flame Mac Miller, who didn’t accompany her to the show tonight because as she told Charlamagne The God during the pre-show, “It’s okay to be alone even when you have a boo. You can do both.”

Grande is nominated for five awards tonight, including Best Female Video for “Into You” and Best Collaboration for “Let Me Love You.” Stay updated with our list of 2016 MTV Video Music Award winners and also check out our live-updating red carpet coverage as the show rolls on.
