Cash Money Records co-CEO and founder Bryan “Birdman” Williams is proud to welcome rapper and actor MYSTIKAL to the Cash Money Records and YMCMB family. The New Orleans based rapper, who has known Cash Money CEOs and founders Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams for over two decades, officially signed with Cash Money Records inNovember 2011 and is expected to release his first album for the label in Spring 2012.
“It is an honor to get the opportunity to work with Mystikal, as we have a long history together,” says Bryan “Birdman” Williams, who co-founded Cash Money Records alongside Ronald “Slim” Williams. “He is a great artist and his talent, combined with our hard work and strong team, is going to result in some of the best music of his career. We are expecting great work from Mystikal. Slim and I already have him in the studio working on his first album for Cash Money”.
Mystikal’s first single for Cash Money, is the club banger “Original” featuring Lil Wayne and Birdman, will premiere on December 13, 2011 on The Funkmaster Flex show on Hot 97 FM. The track, which was recorded in Hit Factory in Miami, is expected to appear on Mystikal’s forthcoming album for Cash Money Records.
“It has been a truly long time since I have felt like a rapper and with this signing, and partnership, Birdman and Slim have given me my life as a rapper back,” says Mystikal. “I am ready to go. I am going to put my red Superman drawers, cape and boots on and go! This is a huge moment for me and I am truly excited to be with Cash Money Records”.
