This Mashup Contains Every Single Ad-Lib Chance The Rapper Has Ever Rapped

Chance The Rapper is shaping up to be your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper — he holds down even his mentors when they are hurting, and has drawn attention and interest in collaboration from half the music industry in the last year or so.

Considering he singlehandedly convinced the Grammys to include streaming-only projects in their nominations, it’s been a not so shabby 2016 for Chance, who along with Gucci Mane, has managed to have a good year while the rest of us sulk. And while we’re still trying to unpack exactly what it is that makes Chance so special, there’s one fairly obvious reason right in front of our eyes (ears): His spectacular use of adlibs.

Think about it… every great rapper has a great adlib. A while ago, some internet genius even collected all the most notable ones into one handy board for fans to play with. Thing is, Chance has so many ad-libs all on his own that another diehard fan decided to do the same thing just for the Chicago MC. Which brings us to the above Youtube link, a spliced and collected stream that claims to include every ad-lib Chance has ever recorded, beginning with his debut mixtape 10 Day, moving to his breakout Acid Rap and concluding with this year’s Coloring Book. The fact-checking process is long, but so far it seems like his collection is right on the money.

One thing is for sure, the only thing than Chance’s grasp on the English language is his ability to make his own language out of sound. Truly, that’s the work of an artist. Happy listening!
