When the rest of the TV world is busy promoting their new faces and shows during upfront season, Adult Swim is all about throwing the biggest party. Kanye West played an intimate gig there in the days leading up to his 2013 Yeezus album. OutKast gave the New York City crowd an impromptu gig in 2014, just as their festival tour was kicking into high gear. Then, in 2015 and 2016 the network nabbed Miley Cyrus when she thought hip-hop was cool.
This year, Adult Swim one-upped itself by getting arguably the world’s biggest musician Drake. The Toronto emcee tore the roof off of NYC’s Terminal 5 venue and brought out a few special guests guaranteed to get the crowd turned up. Migos showed up to perform their ubiquitous hit “Bad And Boujee” and Quavo even lent assistance to “Portland” from Drizzy’s More Life playlist. Drake also grabbed Playboi Carti up to perform “Wokeuplikethis.”

Even though Drake is supposed to be taking a sabbatical from music, it hasn’t stopped him from leaving cryptic messages on Instagram or reminding us that he’s been part of our lives musically for at least eight consecutive years. Even when we should be tired of Drake, he isn’t tired of surprising us.
