Drake’s third album, “Nothing Was The Same,” now drops September 24th. Check above for the standard and deluxe cover.
probably pushed it back because GTA 5 is releasing sept 17,smart move!!!
@ It got pushed back due to sample clearance issues.
Whatever the reason for him pushing it back may be, he’s going to kill it again but I’m somewhat skeptical if he will show any evolution as an artist. Frank Gehry is a notable example, he’s created such a. particular method and delivery of his work that he is now being overlooked due to the “safe” and what’s becoming stale work. He is consistent, and he has depth but will there ever be an album where drake has seamlessly fused his multiple personas? Will he outdo himself? will he not follow his equation?
So now him and big sean album dropping on the same day? maybe that’s why he pushed it back competition sells records
But the bigger story is why Drake has Blue Ivy on his album cover though?
this look like one of those African paintings they sale at the flea markets
his only competiton is himself and thats a very hard competition competing with yourself is crazy all he need to do is try diffrent sounds and he gonna be good say what you want he can rap and one of the best songwriters in hip hop
If you look at it, it almost has a similarity to bigs cover Almost
I can’t see myself ever buying one of this guy’s albums due to all the singing he does so I will download this just like the other two.. no matter when it “comes out”, if he’s not doing an iTunes release or digital release first, it will be out at least a week before it is scheduled to… long live the Internet.
yep, big vs nas hair cut. Straight creativity at its finest
Look at this fraud tryna front like he was some urban child. As if his white moms in suburban Toronto ever put a pick to his head like that. We got Google, nigga, you had a Jew Fro. I guess he needed somebody to draw the shit because his real baby pics didn’t look ethnic enough. Culture robbin ass nigga.
so he saw his pops as a baby, not once, his pops never couldve threw a pick in his hair? not once? damn homey u sound like u was there thru his life.
i didnt know u had to be from the hood to ever put a pick in your hair. i have seen jews use a pic before in brooklyn. not that serious bruh
Boys tell stories about the man say I never struggled yea I doubt it nigga
Co sign county of kings
@County of Kings
So I guess you gon co-sign his “struggle” too, right? Started From the Bottom, right? That man is pimpin the black urban experience like never before in Hip Hop. At least other emcees who do it actually experienced it themselves. He’s a culture robber, dog. And no, it ain’t that serious, its just sad. It’s sad because most black folks praise him for it.
i’m just sayin i listen to it with an open mind i guess. started from the bottom is different for people depending on what u feel your bottom is. because you and i mightve grown up in a project building, and his mom had a house doesnt mean it aint bottom for him.
i remember watchin boyz n the hood, and hearing them say it was the hood, and i was like how is that the hood they have houses and lawns and shit. the hood to me is a 6 or more story building wit pissy elevators and crack heads.
a person living in a cardboard box or a shelter might laugh at u if u say u started from the bottom also, so its all about perspective in my mind. however he grew up he felt it was his bottom and he doesnt ever wanna go back. i cant judge him for that
My thoughts exactly. ^
Another cute line by Drake with no substance behind it…sounds about right. Oh, my fault, he did struggle. “I done kept it real from the jump
Living at my mama’s house we’d argue every month”. Must have been Hell growin up with those obstacles.
The purpose of “Started from the Bottom” is subjective and personal. Everybody has their own “Bottom”. Just because Drakes “Bottom” may not be what you consider “Bottom” doesn’t make him less credible. At the end of the day, Drake didn’t have the million of dollars he has today back in the day in which he is referring to. The “Bottom” is a metaphor for whatever you want it to mean. This is what makes drake great and relate-able, its people like you that continue to hate on this mans work without seeing it thru and judging it off face value. Its music son, thugs and gangsters aren’t the only people that are allowed to make it.
@614 grind, that line u just wrote, isnt that the truth tho? he says he kept it real from the jump, living in his mama house etc.
earlier u said u got google so u can look it up, but u dont have to go to google, he will tell u himself in his music where he grew up. he does keep it real, u might not like it, but that dont mean he didnt keep it real. its not like how he grew up was exposed by anyone else but him, he tells it all. we can either like it or not.
the gangsta rappers are the ones who dont keep it real and google will expose them.
Dude in my eyes drake is one of the realest guys in the rap game.because he came into the rap game being himself.everybody put b.i.g and nas in their top 5 best rapppers, but nas and big was not thugs who bust guns selling drugs, they just lived around it.fact is rather listen to drake than trash like gucci mane and jeezy and people can co-sign their lifestyle
i never understood the drake hate, dude has two solid album, drake is that guy he can spit lyrics and sings(im not a r&b fan but it works with him.he makes music most hip hop fans can relate too(because most hip hop fans dont sell drugs, bust their gun and living that million dollar life).
I see blue ivy is already in the music business at this young age..
“Back when if a nigga reached it was for the
Nowadays niggas reach just to sell they record” msic is past thugging this Days(and that doesn’t make it any less real doug). Welcom to 21st centry
