“I done got away, and I done got caught”
Gucci Mane’s put up quite a string of videos to accompany his post-prison project, Everybody Looking. Now, the crime-filled “Robbed” is the latest album track to get a visual interpretation.
The video is directed by Gabriel Hart and plays out like a modern day Donald Goines novel brought to life. Guwop plays the role of narrator, rhyming his verses uninterrupted while the action on the screen tracks the story of a robber who ends up being the victim before the three minutes of music are up. Things start off with the robber running up a vic, taking his bag and tossing him in the trunk. Little does the culprit know he’s snatched money from the wrong one because three bad *ss chicks immediately give chase.
Without spoiling the whole storyline, just know that Gucci recruited his lady Keyshia Ka’oir to portray the role of the trio’s ringleader . Annnddd, there’s a fight scene that won’t necessarily top anything seen in Kill Bill but the ladies do manage to apply an *ss-whipping on the bad guy. The song and video work together to make “Robbed” an entertaining cautionary tale for anyone even thinking they want to get involved in the game.
