It’s been a roller coaster year for Atlanta’s own Gucci Mane. After being released from prison in May, Guwop hit the ground running, churning out music at his typical frenetic pace, even notching his first ever No. 1 hit with Rae Sremmurd. But before his annual turn as the East Atlanta Santa he took the time to propose to his longtime girlfriend Keyshia Ka’oir. With that monumental moment behind him, Gucci is right back at it, bringing in the holidays with his latest project The Return Of East Atlanta Santa.
The latest installment of the holiday series was premiered on DJ Khaled’s We The Best Radio on Beats 1, and should be Guwop’s last release of a hectic year. Well, maybe, you never really know with Gucci Mane.
The 13-track tape comes right on the heels of abbreviated collaboration mixtapes with Future and Lil Uzi Vert last month as well as the aptly title Woptober, in, well, October.The Return Of East Atlanta Santa features plenty of Zaytoven production, as expected, as well as beats from the likes of Mike WiLL Made-It, Metro Boomin, Southside and Murda Beatz. Much like every other release of Gucci’s abbreviated 2016, the tape has big name features, this time Drake, Bryson Tiller and Travi$ Scott give Guwop assists on the LP.
