A New J. Cole Album Could Be Releasing Very, Very Soon

Update: The pre-sale for the album has now been removed from iTunes. But, don’t expect that to quiet the excitement from fans as they wait for official word from Cole or his label.

J. Cole couldn’t let the year come to a close without giving fans a taste of new material. From the looks of things, the rapper could be releasing a fresh project titled 4 Your Eyez Only as early as next week.

The news hasn’t been confirmed as of yet but iTunes gives us the telltale signs for a release. The album popped up as a pre-order on the service with 10 untitled tracks and a release date of next Friday, December 9th.

Cole World’s been relatively quiet since since releasing 2014 Forest Hills Drive two Decembers ago. The album was a huge success, achieving double platinum status — with no features. He did tour in support of the project and released an accompanying documentary on HBO, which he released a live album version of at the top of this year. There was also a stellar appearance on DJ Khaled’s Major Key with “Jermaine’s Interlude.” The Roc rhymer announced a tour hiatus back in October, which many took as a sign that he was maybe ready to lock himself in the studio for album-mode.

Again, these things are subject to change and nothing’s been announced as yet. But would this be a very swell, early Christmas gift for fans?
