Riding the chart success of his new album, Jeezy returns with a new video for “Bout That” featuring Lil Wayne. Nothing too fancy here: flashy chains, fancy cars and both MCs flaunting their prowess in their respective lanes. Jeezy serves up two verses surrounded by city backdrops while Weezy’s comes from a place with palm trees. Both sport hockey jerseys emblazoned with “Snowman,” which means they’ll probably go up for sale as online merch soon via Jeezy’s site.
The new video drops after Jeezy scored his third number one album after the third installment of the Trap or Die series put up 89,000 copies in its first week, edging out Kenny Chesney for the top slot. The project’s content is departure from the more aware approach Snowman took with Church in These Streets and a return to the rhymes whose focus is more about standing over the Pyrex in the kitchen and getting it in on the streets. It’s familiar terrain for Jeezy and the boastful nature of “Bout That” is a slice of what is to be found from the whole, which could be a workout playlist that’ll have you lifting the whole rack in the gym.
