Press Play And Prepare To Drift Away With JMSN’s New ‘Live North Hollywood’ Album

Working with music playing in the background is never really an option, which may sound quite odd considering. Yet, the fact remains that when I try to listen to music of any sort, my mind can’t focus on anything except soaked in the lyrics and immersing myself in the beat. JMSN’s latest release, Live North Hollywood, whisked me before I even had a chance to resist by hitting the stop button.

The eight-song project is mostly composed of songs from his It Is album and features the Michigan native and his band recording live, as the name implies, at Big Bang Studios in North Hollywood. Well done live projects are always a special treat but hearing JMSN’s music stripped down and built back up really opens up the music, allowing it to breathe in a sense. The sound is raw, gritty and impassioned as he runs through romantic cuts like “It Is,” taps into urging sense of sexual healing found on “Most of All” and smooth, yet defiant “F*ck U.” JMSN’s created a secluded audio island where your mind can get away and escape the day, voluntarily or involuntarily. No matter what, you’re going as soon as you hit play.

Listen to the project below via SoundCloud before it releases all digital outlets and shop.iamjmsn.com on Friday, September 23.
