Naturally, Everyone Is Going Crazy Over Don Cheadle Rapping In Kendrick’s ‘DNA’ Video

Kendrick Lamar’s reign following the release of his third-straight-No. 1 album DAMN. has been pretty unstoppable. First, there was the leak that stirred up the internet’s conspiracy theory machine, then there was the album itself, a perceived battle with fellow Rap God Drake, and the Coachella performance that redefined FOMO. That alone was a victory lap for young K. Dot, but of course he wasn’t done.

Today he released the video for what is arguably the record’s stand-out track, “DNA,” and it stars none other than Don Cheadle interviewing our young hero like this is a particularly prickly episode of Law And Order — and one with better stars. The tables turn early on in the clip when Cheadle is electrocuted by the lie detector machine he’s about to use on Lamar, and the video just gets more aggressive from there.

The best part may be Cheadle rapping the lyrics back at K.Dot, but Kendrick’s long-time TDE righthand man ScHoolboy Q also shows up for the clip, which naturally had the internet up in arms about the fount of material off DAMN. that shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon.
