First Take’s Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless discuss how a 2-3 record in the NBA Finals will impact LeBron James’ legacy.
Do you think this loss has a major impact on LeBron’s legacy?
Isn’t it 2 and 4 actually? Didn’t he lose a Finals in Cleveland? He’s got a long career so I don’t think you can say that yet. If he goes back to Cleveland and wins I think that’s better than winning two in Miami. But I think he will stay with the Heat and try to squeeze out another title of Dwade’s failing body. The Cavs got Kyrie and the 1st pick, would be fun.
No it doesn’t hurt his legacy. Not making it to the finals at all would hurt his legacy. It doesn’t change that fact that Lebron is the best player in the league/world. The Spurs just had the better team, Lebron was the best player in the series, tried his best to carry his team while averaging 28pts during the finals while everyone else on the Heat played like shit. At the end of the day Lebron showed up to play on the finals and the rest of the Heat didn’t. Kobe wouldn’t even got pass this Spurs team and I don’t think the 98 Bulls could either (would be close though). I still think when it’s all said and done Lebron will be the GOAT but Kobe/MJ stans will never admit to it and neither will people who don’t know shit about basketball.
Wow you are retarded. Yes he lost in Cleveland, therefore he would be 2-5. 2 Wins in Miami, 2 Loss in Miami and 1 Loss in Cleveland
listen, if we are talking about his legacy in relation to Jordan, then yes… that shipped sailed when he joined a guy that had already won a championship without him (Wade) and the franchise player of another team (Bosh), bottomline, the only people who will think that LeBron is better than Jordan are guys born 1993 and after who never saw Jordan play and under the NBA rules Jordan competed.. meaning “hand checking”
Now, if we are talking about his NBA legacy as a great player, then that’s just stupid and foolish talk. LeBron is a great player and when it’s all said and done, he, Wade, Duncan and Kobe will replace 4 of the players currently in the Top 50 NBA players of all time… guys like:
Dave Bing, Rick Barry, Paul Arizin, Hal Greer and a few others will easily come off the 50 Greatest list…
so LeBron’s legacy is good in regards to him having a great career… I personally think he will only win one more championship before it’s all said and done. I don’t think he will be on another super team again and LeBron clearly lacks the killer instinct of guys like Jordan and Kobe, and lacks the will to want to completely dominate like Shaq…
LeBron sat out the last 6 mins of the Finals game, not because he was hurt but because he was defeated, I’ve never seen anything like that. I can understand being taken out early on your home floor so the crowd can cheer for you, but a closeout game on the opponents floor and you simply don’t play the last 6 mins… dude is just not built like some of the other greats and that’s the bottomline.
SEE PEOPLE FAIL TO RELIZE IS THAT LEBRON IS AND WAS MUCH YOUNGER THAN JORDAN WHEN HE GOT HIS FIRST RING AND FOR PEOPLE TO CRITISIZE HIM FOR HAVING A 2-3 FINALS RECORD IS RIDICULOUS BECAUSE NOT ONLY DOES HE STILL HAVE TIME TO GET MORE CHAMPIONSHIPS BUT THERES ALOT OF HALL OF FAME PLAYERS WITHOUT EVEN ONE RING SO TO SAY HE’S NOT THIS AND HE’S THAT IS JUST STUPID
Lebron still a great player,we cannot deny it ,his name will be graved on the NBA history stone…a three peat is difficult for winning mostly if u challenged the championship with the same team…spurs were mo’ raged than the heat…
2-5..Miami lost to Dallas and spurs twice.
still one of the greatest to ever do it.
@ISPEAKTHETRUTH c’mon son… at 27 years old, LeBron was in the league for 9 years, at 27 years old Jordan was in (a much more stacked) league for 5 years haha
Also Jordan won his first championship during the 90-91 season, which makes him 28 years old when James was 27 years old, you speak little truth haha
not to mention Jordan missed his second season due to injury haha, this is too easy
It’s over. His Hollywood media duck sucking can’t save him now. LeBron is so far away from MJ’s legacy it’s laughable. Let’s all remember when he claimed the number “23” in Cleveland and the name “the KING” his rookie year…how ridiculous of a claim to make. HOW DARE YOU LECRAMP! Karma has knocked you and your fans down harder than I’ve ever seen in sports. You even had the nerve to claim the number “6”! As in 6 rings in a row!? Again claiming your as grear as MJ…you can’t even get a THREEPEAT! The legacy is over. Finally the NBA can grow more than it ever has. Finally more amazing players will soon be recognized to be as good as LeBron. LEBRON is just another great player. Except he’s a great player that so many NBA fans despise…because frankly…he’s a huge voucher in every way. The only way I will respect Lebron from here on out…is he goes back to Cleveland and claims the number “3”(i.e. Hopefully my 3rd time switching a team will get me the rings I deserve).
Lebron could win at most…two rings in Cleveland. Kyrie Irvine, Wiggins/Parker/Embiib, and LeBron James could go all the way easily.
But thats the end Lebron. You will never be considered as the greatest basketball player of all time. You will be remembered as the players that was seen as an arrogant flopping, menstrual cramp, no 3peat having ass wannabe that tried to out MJs legacy. Future ballers should take notes. Don’t make the claim that your one of the greatest. KWAHI LENOARD….enough said
Here’s an idea lebron. Since you royally fucked up and made the claim your better than Jordan. Save your legacy by going to MJ’s Charlotte Hornets team. Seeing Lebron try at a ring with MJ as the owner could definitely patch up LeBrons dumbass claims he’s made. Think about it….Kemba Walker, MKG, Big Al Jefferson, and LeBron. That’s a really young team to go work with. Kemba Walker is a way better PG than Mario Chalmers, Al Jefferson is so much more of an impact than Chris Bosh. I’ll make the claim now….LeBrons going to Charolette. You heard it here first!
Make no doubt about it. Lebron is the best player in the world. Shooting 57% in the Finals is RIDICULOUS.
I have no doubt that he’ll end his career as one of the TOP 5 best players of all time. But his 2-3 Finals record will prevent him from surpassing Jordan as the G.O.A.T. Unless he wins more rings than Jordan, he will never surpass Jordan. Jordan was 6-0 in Finals. A perfect record.
Jordan never would have disappeared against the Mavericks like Lebron did in 2011. And Jordan would never allow Kawhi Leanord to score 20+ a game and win Finals MVP. In fact, Jordan was the Defensive Player of the Year in 1988.
RIght now, Lebron isn’t close to surpassing Jordan. A better comparison would be Kobe. If Lebron can win 4 or 5 championships by the time he’s done, I will say that he’s surpassed Kobe. He’s got the superior stats.
My friends; you will not find a more objective (non-hate based) analysis anywhere on the internet.
Tim Duncan is 5-1 in the finals, Jordan is 6-0 in the finals. LeQueen….2-5
nothing else to say to be honest…
