Outkast Reunites Onstage In Atlanta With Dungeon Family Reunion

The shockwaves from Andre 3000’s appearance on Frank Ocean’s latest project are still reverberating a little bit on the heels of even more news about the former Outkast co-leader. But these headlines are even bigger.

At Saturday’s One MusicFest in Atlanta, Andre 3000 jumped back into action with his old partner Big Boi for the first Outkast onstage performance in almost two years. The occasion resulted in a Dungeon Family reunion, with Outkast rolling out chestnuts like “So Fresh, So Clean,” “Hootie Hoo,” “SpottieOttieDopaliscious” and more. Big Boi pitched in on Goodie Mobb’s “Dirty South.” And later on, Killer Mike came on out to join in on the duo’s “The Whole World.”

The Outkast appearance wasn’t a major surprise. One Musicfest promoted the entire Dungeon Family showing up at the event and while that wasn’t 100 percent accurate — Future (currently on the road with Drake) and Goodie Mobb member Khujo weren’t around — the Outkast revival looks like it more than made up for those absences.

Plenty of other big names took to the stage at One MusicFest as well, including Cee Lo Green, T.I., Andra Day, Ice Cube, Erykah Badu, Busta Rhymes and Gary Clark, Jr. Whether this extravaganza means we’ll be getting a new record from Outkast for the first time since 2006’s “Idlewild” remains to be seen, but Saturday night in Atlanta sure makes it feel like that would be a great idea.
