T.I.’s Photoshopped Picture Of MLK Wearing A Falcons Fitted Is Raising Eyebrows

Every year on MLK Day, party promoters photoshop Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s face on club flyers to remind potential club goers that “there’s no work or school on Monday” so they might as well come out and twerk in honor of King’s birthday. It’s distasteful as f*ck, but it happens. And now that the Atlanta Falcons are one win away from claiming their first Super Bowl victory, MLK’s face is offensively being used again.

T.I. posted this photoshopped picture of the iconic civil rights leader wearing a Falcons fitted. What’s even more facepalm-worthy is that the picture was put through a filter to really add in an extra layer of disrespect. Obviously, fans of the “Us or Else” rapper aren’t feeling the image and are demanding he take it down.

“This has got to be one of the most disrespectful flyers I’ve seen using Dr. King’s image. Show this man some respect, he didn’t march and protest to be used on a flyer regardless of whose team it is and him being from Atlanta, ” commented a disappointed fan on Instagram. Another said MLK was likely rolling in his grave because of Tip’s tweet, while one critic said T.I. was giving racists ammunition. “No wonder they don’t respect us. We have to respect the images of our leaders, legends, and history. Trivializing their images in this matter only belittles their impact. And that’s all the ammunition Bannon, Yiannopoulos, and their cronies need. #usorelse right?”

For what it’s worth if MLK wasn’t murdered he would probably be rooting for the Falcons, his home team. However, it’s super unlikely an 88-year old MLK would take a selfie and apply that filter over it.
